Veteran Cars - 6 Nov 11

Mixing with the cars

Sunday 6th November 2011, 7am prompt

53 miles on roads; return by train by about 7pm
Meet at John Ball Primary School

Cycle from London to Brighton with the Veteran Cars, those are cars built before 1st January 1905: all these vehicles are over 100 years old!  Most of the route is closed to normal motor traffic, but bicycles are welcome, and we can just about keep pace with the veteran vehicles on a good downhill.  We will join the Veteran Car Run at East Croydon, after a ride through south London's quiet streets at 7am on a Sunday morning.

From East Croydon, the distance to Brighton is 43 miles.  But it is a further 10 miles from Blackheath to Croydon, giving a ride of over 50 miles.  We will travel back to London by train after fish and chips on Brighton beach, home by 7pm with a bit of luck.
