A delightfully relaxed motor traffic free bicycle ride following the Thames Path between Greenwich and Erith.  From John Ball School we cross Blackheath and Greenwich Park to the Cutty Sark. From there we pass through the Grounds of the Old Naval College, and the great meander of the Greenwich Peninsular. We usually stop at the Firepower Cafe for lunch, before continuing on the ride. At Thamesmead the cycle track turns to a dirt track, but the surface it still good. We go around the Crossness Pumping Station where a group of enthusiasts have lovingly restored one of the four great steam engines to working order.

At Erith there are the options of taking the train back or cycling back for a more substantial cycle ride.
